EFZ business administrator

As a trainee EFZ business administrator, you will get to know all the administrative departments of a hotel. Special focus is given to reception and reservations, with event sales, accounting and human resources departments also included. To gain insights into all areas, you will also have placements in operational departments such as service and housekeeping at the beginning of your 3-year vocational training.

Training content:

Receiving, advising and assisting guests
Checking guests in and out
Taking and processing reservations
Carrying out sales negotiations and preparing quotations
Corresponding with guests
Regular administrative tasks

Requirements:

You have completed secondary, upper secondary or middle secondary school levels
You are a good communicator and able to work in a team
You have a basic knowledge of a foreign language
You are flexible and able to work under pressure
You enjoy working in admin and have organisational skills
You are service-minded and have very good interpersonal skills

EFZ hotel communications

The Swiss equivalent to traditional front of house training, focussing on working on reception after successfully completing training. As trainee hotel communications staff, you will get to know all the operational departments of a hotel during your three-year training and gain knowledge in the marketing and communication areas.

Preparing guest rooms and monitoring service standards
Guest reception and hospitality
Serving food and drinks
Involvement in developing marketing activities
Carrying out sales negotiations and preparing quotations
Storing and inspecting inventory
Corresponding with guests

You have a basic knowledge of a foreign language
